Paver Patio and Island with Grill
About the Project
The original pool patio consisted of a narrow four 4′ wide paver path around the pool, with a step down to a 90′ x 6′ red brick patio extending to the seawall bulkhead. This split-level area presented a trip hazard and made it difficult to have lounge chairs near the pool, so we removed the red bricks, elevated the soil, and installed matching pavers, not only to the seawall, but on top of the seawall for continuity. As a safety measure and to add to the nighttime ambiance, landscape rope lighting was installed under the bullnose paver to illuminate the seawall. Four rock planter boxes were created to define and highlight the triple-palm trees. On the side of the patio with grass, the paver patio was extended four additional feet with a 8′ x 12′ paver pad for the island with natural gas grill. A gas line was installed from the gas meter to the island natural gas grill location to prevent the need to ever have to refill propane tanks.
